Sílvia Raventós is a violinist and percussionist from Barcelona. She began playing the violin at the age of nine, and later took up drums and percussion at fifteen. Completing her studies at Taller de Músics, a renowned music university in Barcelona she started her musical journey with classical music. Sílvia has since shifted her focus to jazz and flamenco—the genres she is most passionate about. While the violin is not a traditional flamenco instrument, she is dedicated to exploring its full potential within this musical style. Her experience playing both the violin and the cajón offers her a unique and enriching perspective on flamenco.
In addition to her work as a performer, Sílvia is also committed to music education. She teaches at “Xamfrà: Música, escena i inclusió social,” a project focused on fostering social inclusion through music, theatre, and dance.
