Orsi Urbán is one of Hungary’s most distinctive and captivating jazz voices – a performer known for her rich, soulful tone and magnetic stage presence. With formal training in both choral conducting and jazz vocals, Orsi moves seamlessly between jazz standards, swing, Latin classics, and her own original material, always delivering with heart and precision. Over the years, she’s lit up stages with groups like Jazzsteps, Avocado, Collective, and Enjoy, and regularly collaborates with top-tier musicians like saxophonist Gábor Kollmann, pianist Richárd Révész, and percussionist József Czibere.
A graduate of the prestigious Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, she has not only graced its faculty but also teaches at the esteemed Béla Bartók School of Music.
Her dynamic career includes collaborations with jazz legends like Joe Murányi and performances with the Budapest Jazz Orchestra. Orsi’s versatility shines through in her repertoire. Her 2012 album, Mindig Játék (Always a Game), was nominated for the Fonogram Prize, and her subsequent duo album with pianist Richárd Révész, I Know You Love Me, garnered critical acclaim.
